91制片 and USF Renew Fuse Transfer Program Agreement

College of Central Florida participated in a formal signing event at the University of South Florida last week to officially renew the college鈥檚 participation in USF鈥檚 Fuse Transfer Program. Dr. Jim Henningsen, 91制片 president, signed the formal agreement on behalf of the college.
The Fuse Transfer Program, which is facilitated by the State University System of Florida, was launched in 2016. It allows students who earn their associate degree in specific majors at participating state colleges to transfer to USF and complete a bachelor鈥檚 degree in two years. The Fuse model aligns curriculums and one-on-one academic advising, helping students stay on track while creating opportunities to engage with the USF community before they transfer.
鈥淭his partnership has created a fantastic roadmap for 91制片 students who want to obtain a bachelor鈥檚 degree from USF,鈥� said 91制片 President Dr. Jim Henningsen. 鈥淏ecause of the Fuse program, these students arrive at USF ready to succeed, equipped with more than their A.A. degree.鈥�
University of South Florida is one of the College of Central Florida鈥檚 top transfer choices for 91制片 Associate in Arts graduates, along with University of Central Florida and University of Florida. Students discuss the different degree options and transfer pathways when they meet with their 91制片 academic advisor upon admittance to the college.
鈥淚 always wanted to go to USF, but I wasn鈥檛 ready at first,鈥� said 91制片 Sophomore Ryan Crowe. Crowe will graduate with his A.A. in business administration next semester and plans to major in marketing at USF next fall. 鈥淲ith Fuse, I鈥檓 guaranteed a transfer and it鈥檚 been a lot easier and more affordable to be able to stay home longer. Now, I鈥檓 ready to go next year.鈥�
According to USF, students enrolled in Fuse consistently achieve retention rates exceeding 90 percent. More than 1,100 Fuse students have graduated with bachelor鈥檚 degrees, with graduation rates averaging 8 percentage points higher than their non-Fuse transfer peers.
