91制片 Collegiate Academy is a specialized early college program that provides students with an opportunity to jumpstart or even complete their college education before high school graduation. Students can earn some or all of their Associate in Arts degree (A.A.) for transfer to a bachelor鈥檚 degree or earn significant progress toward, or in some cases completion of, an Associate in Science (A.S.) degree through the College of Central Florida prior to completion of their high school diploma. Students pursuing Health Sciences programs may complete prerequisites for admission into limited access A.S. degrees upon high school graduation.

Collegiate Academy students are required to take a full course load (12 to 18 credit hours) at a 91制片 campus or online and will have a realistic college experience that includes student activities, ample learning resources and engagement with all that 91制片 campuses have to offer. Students in A.S. programs will also complete an internship.

Application / Registration Process

After selecting the Collegiate Academy as their school choice in 8th grade, students will work with their high school guidance counselors to ensure all eligibility requirements are met while remaining at their base school in 9th and 10th grade. Once accepted into the Collegiate Academy, students in 11th and 12th grade will take classes full-time at a 91制片 campus or online.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will dual enrollment at other high schools continue?

Students will continue to be able to enroll in traditional dual enrollment in Marion, Citrus and Levy counties, taking a combination of high school classes at their high school and college courses at a 91制片 campus and/or online.

May I still participate in activities such as HOSA Future Health Professionals, sports or band at my high school?

Yes, you will need to work with your high school counselor to participate in student activities. You will also need to select a 91制片 course schedule that allows you to take part in the high school activity schedule. Collegiate Academy students are eligible to participate in all 91制片 student activities such as clubs, leadership opportunities, athletic events, visual and performing arts events and more.

What is the cost to attend the 91制片 Collegiate Academy?

There are no costs to any dual enrollment student for tuition and textbooks, per state statute. Required textbooks and other instructional materials are funded by the school district.

Can home school or private school students participate in 91制片 Collegiate Academy?

Yes, home school and private school students have the same opportunities as public school students.

Is there transportation available to the 91制片 campus for me to attend classes there?

Students are responsible for transportation to the college campus for course meetings. Students who are currently enrolled in the West Port High School Early College program will be transported to the Ocala Campus from the high school during the 2024-2025 transition period only.

How many credits/courses must I or can I take in the 91制片 Collegiate Academy?

91制片 Collegiate Academy students must enroll in at least 12 credits and may take up to 18 credit hours in fall and spring semesters. Collegiate Academy students are also eligible for summer classes. Traditional dual enrolled students may take as little as one course.

What 91制片 services will be available to Collegiate Academy students?

Collegiate Academy students have access to all 91制片 student services, including free admission to student events and the Appleton Museum of Art; support through tutoring, counseling, advising and career guidance; free email and Microsoft Office account; and amenities such as the library, learning commons and student lounge.

Are courses offered in-person and online?

Yes. 91制片 offers courses in classroom, online and hybrid formats. Not all classes have all three modalities of course offerings available.

How does a student remain in good standing in the 91制片 Collegiate Academy?

Students must maintain grades of 鈥淐鈥 or higher in all courses. If a student earns a 鈥淒,鈥 鈥淔,鈥 or 鈥淔F鈥 grade in any course, the student will no longer be eligible to participate in the 91制片 Collegiate Academy or traditional dual enrollment. The student is only allowed one 鈥淲鈥 in any course to remain eligible.

Are the entrance requirements (GPA, test scores, etc.) the same for Collegiate Academy and traditional dual enrollment?

Requirements such as GPA, test scores, etc. are the same, but the student must have completed high school requirements prior to entrance into the Collegiate Academy. Otherwise, the student will remain at their home high school completing the missing requirements and can enroll in traditional dual enrollment at a 91制片 campus or online. Additionally, Marion County Public Schools does not allow students in the 91制片 Collegiate Academy to be recognized as valedictorians or salutatorians at their home high schools. All dual enrollment students are eligible to be recognized at 91制片鈥檚 annual commencement ceremony.
